Richard Leventhal is the Chairman, CEO and sole proprietor of Fedway Associates, a premier wholesaler of Wines and Spirits in the United States. In the 43 years that he has owned Fedway, sales have increased steadily from just under $80 million in 1978 to over $1.0 billion in 2020. Richard Leventhal is also the sole proprietor of Inter Metro Trucking and Heavy Weight Transportation, a logistics and trucking company with operations and offices in New Jersey, Virginia, Georgia, South Carolina, Florida, California, and Texas. The Leventhal group is also active in real estate development with ongoing projects in both New Jersey and Georgia. In addition, Richard manages a Private Equity Portfolio and miscellaneous investments for his family office.
Richard and his wife Kathy have endowed scholarships at both the University of Chicago and the University of Southern California, as well as a research fellowship at Yale University and most recently have endowed the Richard and Kathy Leventhal Professor in the Department of Chemistry, at the Pritzker School of Molecular Engineering, and the James Franck Institute at the University of Chicago Center for Theoretical Chemistry.
Richard is a past treasurer of the Jewish Home for the Aged at Rockleigh, New Jersey, a member of the honorary board of directors of the Make a Wish Foundation of New Jersey, a past member of the regional advisory board for JP Morgan Chase, and a member of the board of directors of the Wine and Spirit Wholesalers.
