Michael Peirce

Michael Peirce graduated in Engineering at Trinity College, Dublin, in 1964.

After a period of working at Imperial Chemicals in the U.K. , he returned to Ireland in 1970 to lecture in Manufacturing Engineering.   He received his PhD for his research into Computer Integrated Manufacturing in 1976.

In 1978 he founded Mentec International, an engineering oriented IT company, and became CEO and later Chairman until 2006. In that period he was a founder Director and  Chairman of Parthus, Vedia, Mentor Capital, Amiba and Chairman of Isle of Arran Distillers in Scotland.  More recently he became a founder Director and Chairman of Powerscourt Distillery In Ireland.

He is a Member of the Provost’s Council  at Trinity College and maintains a keen interest in Third level education, music, English Literature and Rugby.
