Around 300 people took to the streets of Lagmore in west Belfast on Friday (June 25) for the first ever PRIDE event held in the area.

Organised by the Lagmore Youth Project as part of the Co-operation Ireland managed, SEUPB PEACE IV funded Youth Network for Peace programme, the event was organised by young people in the area as part of their social action

Around 300 people completed The Colour Run. Organiser Arón Hughes said: “We couldn’t be happier with the turn out for what was a fun event that drew attention to the issues faced by young people who are members of the LGBTQ+ community.

“We want to thank everyone who made the day such a huge success, especially Lord Mayor of Belfast Kate Nicholl who came along to start the event”.
