NEW YEARS HONOURS: Congratulations to Anthony Quinn and John Griffin on recognition of peacebuilding efforts

Former Co-operation Ireland Business Development Director Anthony Quinn has been recognised in the New Year’s Honours List 2024 with an MBE.

Also honoured in the list is Co-operation Ireland ambassador John Griffin, who has been appointed a Knights Bachelor.

Long-time CI supporter Terence Donnelly has been honoured with an OBE for services to the motor industry in Northern Ireland.


Anthony Quinn, who retired from the charity in 2023 as Director of Programmes at Co-operation Ireland, has been awarded an MBE (Member of the Order of the British Empire) for services to Community Relations in Northern Ireland.


John Griffin has been honoured for services to business and charity.


A founder of private cab company Addison Lee in 1975, John built the largest business of its kind in Europe, with more than 5,000 drivers. In 2013, the American private equity firm Carlyle Group bought the business for £350 million.


John has spent the last ten years supporting a range of charities including Co-operation Ireland where he works an ambassador, fostering on grassroots peace-building efforts.


Through John’s support, the charity has been able to expand its programmes that work to break down barriers between communities.
