The Communities in Transition project, managed by The Executive Office, is working to build capacity, confidence and resilience in eight areas significantly impacted by ‘paramilitarism’ and associated criminality. In 2018/19 Co-operation Ireland, along with our partners in Queens University Belfast, Ulster University and the Institute of Conflict Research conducted research to support understanding of the local context to ‘parmailtiarism’ and gather suggestions for capacity building initiatives in each area. These reports are available below.
Four years on we are currently working with Queen’s University Belfast to conduct fresh research in each Communities in Transition site. It is anticipated this research will be published in Autumn 2022.
