YouthImPact is a cross community and cross border project acting as a Quality and Impact Body for the EU PEACEPLUS Youth Programme. YouthImPact is a cross-border partnership of four regional organisations:
Co-operation Ireland (CI) (Lead Partner); Ulster University (UU); National Youth Council Ireland (NYCI) and Pobal.
The consortium, operating under the name YouthImPact, will provide training and development support to over 300 youth workers engaged in six PEACEPLUS Youth Programme projects. The PEACEPLUS Youth Programme is already in action and is working with 14–24-year-olds living in the Northern Ireland and the border counties of Ireland. These young people, while growing up in a time of relative peace, continue to experience the visible and invisible ripple effects of the conflict in their daily lives.
The purpose of YouthImPact is to maximise the quality of the PEACEPLUS Youth Programme, whereby, the YouthImPact team will work directly with the youth workers involved in the delivery of these six youth initiatives, with the aim of promoting a high-quality, youth-centred approach, concentrating on innovative youth work methods and practice as a means of fostering good relations that is sustainable, in addition to employability outcomes for thousands of children and young people living across Northern Ireland and the border counties.
