Dr Christopher Moran

Dr Christopher Moran has been Chairman of peace-building charity Co-operation Ireland for the last 15 years and in that time he has worked to develop peace and reconciliation under the joint patronage of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and President of Ireland Michael D. Higgins.

Among the highlights of his tenure was the shaking hands of former Deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness and Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, a momentous occasion that took place at Co-operation Ireland’s event in Belfast’s Lyric Theatre in June 2012.

The Charity was also centrally involved in President Michael D. Higgins’s State Visit to Great Britain in April 2014.

Co-operation Ireland was also proud to be able to bring President Micheal D. Higgins together with the the managers of the Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland football teams together in a spirit of friendship in Dublin in November 2018 ahead of their friendly match.
