Peacebuilding charity Co-operation Ireland is delighted to announce the appointment of Ian Jeffers as its new Chief Executive Officer, succeeding Peter Sheridan who has held the role since 2008. 

Former Deputy CEO of the Princes Trust and most recently, Commissioner for Victims and Survivors in Northern Ireland, Ian Jeffers welcomed his new role, stating “I am hugely looking forward to joining Co-operation as the new Chief Executive Officer.  It is an exciting opportunity to shape a better society by addressing legacy issues and promoting collaborative dialogue. I would also like to express my best wishes to the outgoing CEO, Peter Sheridan. Throughout his remarkable tenure, the organisation has made a hugely significant impact throughout the island. I look forward to building on that legacy as we continue to pursue lasting peace and reconciliation.”

Commenting on the new appointment, Peter Sheridan said “It has been an absolute honour and privilege to have worked with an inspiring team and a dynamic board of trustees over the last 15 years. I believed that the peace process attracted the best of people and was Co-operation Ireland a perfect example of that.  I wish Ian Jeffers the very best in leading a remarkable organisation.”
